Paul's personal story

I was diagnosed with ALS in August of 2009. My diagnosis was stunning and very emotional because I was faced with the reality of having a terminal disease. ALS affects everyone differently; I'm lucky to have an unusually slow progressing version of the disease.
I am convinced that there has to be a reason God chose me to deal with this disease. I believe the reason is to raise awareness of and ultimately help find a cure for ALS.
CURE ALS is dedicated to the mission of raising funds to help find a cure and does not and will not provide any funds to me or my family.

The CURE ALS story
Paul and his family never thought ALS would affect them because there was no family history of the disease. But it did. Paul has what is referred to as "sporadic" ALS, a version of the disease that anyone can get. The goal and mission of the family and of CURE ALS, Inc. is that one day someone hearing the words "You have ALS" will also hear the words "We can cure it."
Paul and his family created CURE ALS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to raise funds for research to find a treatment and cure for ALS through raising awareness and increasing education about ALS.
