JANE EVANS
1942 - 2018

Tommy and Evah Jane Rogers were expecting a bouncing baby boy; however, on September 10, 1942, Jane was born ... along with her identical twin Jean! This was such a surprise, they didn't even get middle names!

Jane and her husband, Don Evans, began as girlfriend and boyfriend in the seventh grade. Before Don went off to the Army, the two were married. They were married 58 years at the time of Jane's death. Together, they had two daughters, Kelley Jane and Kendal Lynette, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Jane was a stay-at-home mother until Kelley went to college. She worked as a receptionist for a doctor greeting, comforting and welcoming patients into his practice. When Don retired, she retired too.
And they bought a fifth wheel RV and became Sojourners, traveling around to nonprofits such as children's homes and church camps, to help with various improvement projects.
Jane was diagnosed with ALS in December 2016. Don was constantly "tweaking" her walker, wheelchair, and eventually her hospital bed to add gadgets and devices to make her life easier. Jane spent alot of time during her last few months using the Tobii eye-gaze communication device to shop on Amazon or QVC, using her eyes to buy gifts for everyone in the family.

Jane always put God and family first in her life and truly had the heart of a servant. Her hospice nurses always commented on what a pleasure she was to care for. Even with the challenges of losing mobility and communication, Jane was an inspiration, showing grace and kindness to everyone around her.
